Public Transport
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice train station, the most convenient final approach to Les Arcs is via the funicular. The funicular station is a short walk (5-10 minutes) from the train station. The funicular runs frequently (every 20 minutes) and ascends to Arc 1600 in approximately 7 minutes, offering scenic views. The round-trip funicular ride is free for those presenting a train ticket. From Arc 1600, free shuttle buses connect to Arc 1800, Arc 1950, and Arc 2000. The shuttles run frequently, especially during high season. There are no additional costs beyond the train ticket if utilizing the free funicular and shuttle services.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, taxis and ride-sharing services are available to reach any of the Les Arcs villages. The journey to Arc 1600, 1800, 1950, or 2000 typically takes 25-40 minutes, depending on traffic and snow conditions. Expect to pay approximately €40-€70 for a taxi to one of the higher villages. There are no tolls on this route.
Driving
If driving, follow signs for Les Arcs from Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The road ascends to the various villages. Parking is available in each village, with both indoor and outdoor options. Arc 1950 is car-free, requiring parking in a covered car park. Parking fees vary depending on the village and duration. As an example, outdoor parking at Arc 2000 costs approximately €23.40 per day. Be aware that snow chains or winter tires are often required by law during winter months.
