The most common approach to Aiguille Pourrie starts from Chamonix. Take bus to the 'Brévent' lift station. From there, purchase a ticket for the Planpraz gondola (€25-€35 round trip, prices vary seasonally) which will take you to Planpraz (2000m). From Planpraz, follow the well-marked hiking trails towards Col Cornu. The hike to Col Cornu takes approximately 1.5-2 hours and involves an elevation gain of around 400m. From Col Cornu, continue on a less defined path towards Aiguille Pourrie summit, which involves some easy scrambling. Allow an additional 30-45 minutes for this final section. Be aware that the gondola has operating hours, so check the schedule to ensure you don't get stranded. The last bus from the Brévent lift station back to Chamonix typically departs in the late afternoon.
