If you are driving from central Chamonix, head east on Avenue Michel Croz toward Rue de la Mer de Glace. Follow signs for the Route du Montenvers. The drive will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you reach Montenvers, park your car in the designated parking area. Note that parking fees may apply. From the parking area, you will need to take the Montenvers Train, which will take you directly to the Mer de Glace. The train ride lasts about 20 minutes.
