Getting There

• Walking

  If you are currently at the Colmar train station (Gare de Colmar), exit the station and head southwest on Avenue de la République. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach Place de la Cathédrale. You will pass by several shops and cafes on your way, which are great for a quick stop. As you approach the town center, the beautiful architecture will start to surround you. Look for the tall spire of the Cathedral, which is a sign you're getting close. Once you reach the square, you will be at the stunning Place de la Cathédrale.

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Unterlinden Museum, exit the museum and head east on Rue de l'Ancienne Douane. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the junction with Rue des Tanneurs. Turn left onto Rue des Tanneurs, which will lead you directly to Place de la Cathédrale. This route will take you through the charming streets filled with colorful half-timbered houses. As you approach the square, you will see the Cathedral towering above the surrounding buildings.

• Walking

  If you are near the Petite Venise (Little Venice) area, head north on Rue des Marchands, then turn left onto Rue des Tanneurs. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach Place de la Cathédrale. This area is picturesque, with canals and traditional Alsatian architecture. Keep an eye on the signs for the Cathedral, as they will guide you to the square.

• Walking

  If you are at the Parc du Champ de Mars, exit the park and head southeast on Rue du Ladhof towards Rue des Écoles. Turn right onto Rue des Écoles and follow it until you reach the junction with Rue des Tanneurs. Turn left onto Rue des Tanneurs, which will take you directly to Place de la Cathédrale. Along the way, enjoy the various local shops and cafes that line the streets.
