From Place de la République in Dijon's city center, walk southwest on Rue de la Préfecture. Continue until you reach Rue de la Barre, then turn right. Follow Rue de la Barre to Rue de la Boucherie, turn left, and Place Saint Bernard will be on your right. The walk is generally flat and takes about 5-10 minutes.

Place Saint Bernard, located in the heart of Dijon, is a serene city park that provides a delightful escape from the bustling city streets. This picturesque green space invites visitors to unwind and appreciate the charm of Dijon.The park's history is intertwined with the monument to Bernard of Clairvaux, a memorial built in 1847 by sculptor François Jouffroy. The statue depicts Bernard of Clairvaux preaching the Second Crusade. The square itself was created between 1836 and 1844. The statue was removed for a time after the French Revolution in 1848, but reinstalled in 1852.Today, Place Saint Bernard features manicured lawns and mature trees, perfect for leisurely strolls or picnics. Pathways wind through the park, leading to benches where you can sit and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. The park provides ample space for children to play, making it an excellent destination for families. Seasonal flowers add vibrant splashes of color throughout the year.
