If you are traveling by car, start by heading to the nearest major town, Périgueux. From Périgueux, take the D6089 road towards Brive-la-Gaillarde. After approximately 25 kilometers, take the exit onto D704 towards Hautefort. Continue on the D704 for about 15 kilometers until you reach Hautefort. As you enter the village, follow the signs for 'Château de Hautefort'. There is a parking area available near the castle. Note that parking may incur a small fee.

To reach Château de Hautefort via public transport, first take a train to Périgueux from your location. Once you arrive in Périgueux, go to the bus station and take the 'Transports Périgord' bus line (Line 1) towards Hautefort. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Hautefort' stop. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to the Château. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary.
