Car
From any location in Dordogne Valley, head towards the village of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac. If you're using a GPS, enter the address: Grotte de Rouffignac, 24580 Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac. The cave is located approximately 10 kilometers from the town of Montignac and about 25 kilometers from Sarlat-la-Canéda. Follow the D46 road until you see signs for the cave. There is a parking area available on-site.
Public Transportation
If you're traveling by public transport, take a train to the nearest major station, which is in Périgueux. From Périgueux, you can take a local bus to Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac. Once you arrive in Rouffignac, the cave is approximately 3 kilometers from the bus stop. You may need to arrange for a taxi or a local shuttle service to reach the cave, as public transport options may be limited.
Walking
If you are already in Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac and prefer to walk, head towards the D46 road. The cave is well-signposted, and it takes about 30-40 minutes to walk from the village center to the cave entrance. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes, as some parts of the path may be uneven.
