Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Menétrux-en-Joux. From the center of Besançon, take the D683 towards Dole. After about 30 km, merge onto the D70 towards Mouthe. Continue on D70 until you reach Menétrux-en-Joux. Once in the village, follow the signs for Cascade de l'Éventail, which is approximately 3 km from the center of Menétrux-en-Joux. There is parking available near the entrance to the hiking trails leading to the waterfall.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cascade de l'Éventail via public transport, first take a train from your location to the nearest major station, likely in Besançon or Dole. From Besançon, take the regional train (TER) to Mouthe. Once in Mouthe, you will need to take a local bus or arrange a taxi to Menétrux-en-Joux, as public transport options are limited. The bus ride is approximately 20 minutes. After arriving in Menétrux-en-Joux, follow the signs towards Cascade de l'Éventail, which is about a 3 km hike from the village. Be sure to check the local bus schedules for availability and costs.

• Hiking

  If you are already in Menétrux-en-Joux and prefer to hike, start from the village center. Follow the marked hiking trails that lead to Cascade de l'Éventail. The hike is approximately 3 km and will take you through beautiful forested areas. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry water, as the trail can be steep and uneven in places.
