Constructed in the mid-12th century, the castle features a double-walled design, comprising an outer wall that once enclosed a farmyard and an inner wall that protected the residential courtyard. Within the inner courtyard, visitors can explore buildings dating from the 12th and 15th centuries, including a well, cistern, bakery, cellars, and a grand dining room. Two impressive square towers, each 25 meters high, dominate the structure, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.The castle's history is rich and varied. Originally built by the Lords of Oricourt, it later came into the possession of Nicolas Rolin, the Chancellor of Burgundy, in the 15th century. Rolin, immortalized in a painting by Van Eyck, oversaw significant transformations to the castle. Throughout the centuries, Château d'Oricourt has been owned by several noble families, each leaving their mark on the estate.Today, Château d'Oricourt is recognized as a historical monument. Visitors can explore the castle's various features, including the ramparts, towers, and the impressive pigeon loft.
