Bus
From the city center of La Rochelle, head to the bus station located at 'Place de Verdun'. Take the Line 3 bus towards 'Maillezais'. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Maillezais' stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to 'Rue du Grand Port'. Head south on 'Rue du Général de Gaulle', then take a right onto 'Rue du Grand Port' where you'll find Pier Abbey.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in La Rochelle. Start at the 'Vélos' station near the Old Port and cycle south along the coastal path. Continue along the path until you reach the intersection with 'D137'. Follow 'D137' for about 12 km, then turn left onto 'Rue du Grand Port' in Maillezais. Pier Abbey will be on your right.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk to Maillezais from La Rochelle. Begin at the city center and head towards 'Rue de la République' until you reach 'Place de Verdun'. From there, follow 'Rue de la Gare' until you reach 'D137'. Continue walking along 'D137' for about 12 km towards Maillezais. Once in Maillezais, turn onto 'Rue du Grand Port' where Pier Abbey is located.
