Walking
If you are starting from the Vieux Port (Old Port) area, head southwest along the waterfront promenade. Continue towards the Tour de la Lanterne, which will be on your left. Once you reach the tower, turn left onto Rue de la Lanterne and continue straight. This road will lead you to Rue du Palais. Just before reaching Rue du Palais, you will pass the bustling Place de la République on your right, a great place for a coffee break if needed. Rue du Palais will be directly ahead, and you can enjoy the charming architecture as you walk along this historic street.
Public Transport
If you are near the train station (Gare de La Rochelle), you can take bus line 3 towards 'Les Minimes'. Alight at the 'Palais des Congrès' stop. From there, walk towards the direction of the port. Continue on Rue de la République until you reach a roundabout. Take the first exit onto Rue du Palais, and you will find it just a short walk from there.
Biking
If you are renting a bike, start from the central area near Place de Verdun. Cycle towards the port area, taking the bike lane along the quay. When you reach the Tour de la Lanterne, veer left onto Rue de la Lanterne. Continue cycling straight, and as you approach Rue du Palais, you will see it on your right. There are bike racks available if you wish to park and explore on foot.
Taxi or Ride-sharing
If you prefer to take a taxi or a ride-sharing service, simply request a ride to 'Rue du Palais, 17000 La Rochelle'. The driver will navigate directly to your destination. It’s a straightforward trip, typically taking around 10 minutes from most central locations in La Rochelle.
