Car
To reach Château d'Aguilar by car from the center of Carcassonne, head southwest on the D6113 road. Continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Tuchan. Once in Tuchan, follow the signs to Château d'Aguilar, which is located about 4 kilometers outside of town. There is a small parking area near the castle. Please note that parking may have a cost of approximately €2.
Public Transportation
If you are traveling by public transportation, take a train from Carcassonne to Lézignan-Corbières. From Lézignan-Corbières, you can catch a local bus (line 18) to Tuchan. After arriving in Tuchan, you will need to walk approximately 4 kilometers to reach Château d'Aguilar. Make sure to check the local bus schedule, as services may vary. The total cost for the train and bus combined is around €10.
Walking
For those already in Tuchan, you can reach Château d'Aguilar on foot. From the town center, head northwest on Rue de la République until you reach Chemin de la Chapelle. Follow this path that leads to the castle. The walk is about 4 kilometers and should take around 1 hour. Be prepared for some uphill walking as you approach the castle.
