La Porte Haute, or Upper Gate, is a well-preserved medieval gate marking the western entrance to Riquewihr, France. Dating back to the 13th century and reinforced around 1500, it once guarded the city and now welcomes visitors to step back in time.

Walking
La Porte Haute is located on the western edge of the old town of Riquewihr, easily accessible on foot from anywhere within the village. From the Dolder tower, walk a few steps west along Rue des Remparts. The gate will be directly ahead.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus from Colmar , disembark at the Riquewihr - Poste bus stop. Walk west along Avenue Mequin, then turn left onto Rue du Général de Gaulle. Continue to Place des Trois Églises, then turn right onto Rue des Remparts. Continue walking, La Porte Haute will be on your left. Total walking time is approximately 5-7 minutes. A single bus fare from Colmar is approximately €4.
Parking
If arriving by car, several parking lots are available around the ramparts, a short walk from the historic center. Parking fees are required in Riquewihr's public parking lots, including Sundays and public holidays. Parking du Vignoble costs €3 for 1 hour, and €4.50 for 2 hours. From the parking area, walk towards the town center and follow signs for La Porte Haute.
