From Cauterets, follow the D920 road south for approximately 7 km (about 15 minutes). The road is well-marked with signs for Pont d'Espagne. Be aware that the D920 can be narrow and winding in places. Upon arrival, you'll find a large paid parking area (Puntas parking) near the entrance to the Pont d'Espagne site. Parking costs €8 for up to 12 hours and €11 for longer stays.

The trail climbs gradually through the forest alongside the Gave de Marcadau, passing several stunning waterfalls. The trailhead is located near La Raillère, just above Cauterets. From the center of Cauterets, follow signs for La Raillère and then for Chemin des Cascades. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water.

Cable Car/Chairlift
To reach Lac de Gaube from Pont d'Espagne, you can take a combination of the Télécabine du Puntas (gondola) and the Télésiège de Gaube (chairlift). The gondola departs from near the Puntas parking area. A round-trip ticket for both the gondola and chairlift costs approximately €16 - €19. The chairlift operates from late May to late September. Check the current schedule online or at the ticket office. From the top of the chairlift, it's a short, flat walk (about 15 minutes) to Lac de Gaube.
