Walking
If you are in the Fourvière area, you can simply walk to Escalier Basilique de Fourvière. From the Fourvière Basilica (Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière), head southeast on Rue de la Basilica and take the first left onto Montée des Chazeaux. Continue straight, and you will see the entrance to the Escalier Basilique de Fourvière, which is marked by a series of steps leading down towards the city.
Public Transport
For those starting further away in Lyon, take the metro Line D to the Vieux Lyon station. Once you exit the station, walk towards the river and look for the funicular station (Funiculaire de Fourvière). Purchase a ticket (approximately €2) and ride the funicular to the top of the hill. After disembarking, follow the signs to the Basilica. From the Basilica, it is a short walk to the Escalier Basilique de Fourvière, just follow the directions above.
