Place Richelme is located just behind the Hôtel de Ville. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on your starting point on Cours Mirabeau. No costs are associated with walking.
Public Transport
If arriving by bus to the Gare Routière (bus station), walk straight ahead along Avenue des Belges, then turn left onto Boulevard de la République. Continue straight, crossing Cours Mirabeau, and follow the walking directions above. Alternatively, from the 'Rotonde' bus stop on Cours Mirabeau, walk north towards the Hôtel de Ville. Place Richelme is located just behind it. A single bus ticket costs approximately €1.20 if purchased on board, or €9.10 for a 10-trip ticket. However, most attractions are within walking distance, so using public transport for the final approach is generally unnecessary.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available in Aix-en-Provence. Request a drop-off near the Hôtel de Ville (City Hall). From there, Place Richelme is a short walk away. A taxi ride from the Gare Routière or the Aix-en-Provence TGV station to the city center will cost approximately €15-€25, depending on traffic and the time of day. Driving
Driving directly to Place Richelme is not recommended due to the pedestrianized nature of the old town. The closest parking option is the Parking des Cardeurs, located on Place Forum des Cardeurs, a short walk from Place Richelme. From there, walk along Rue des Cordeliers towards Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, and Place Richelme will be on your left. Parking rates at Parking des Cardeurs are approximately €2 for the first 15 minutes, then increasing incrementally, with a daily maximum of €25.
