Experience Fort Saint-Jean

Getting There

  • Metro

    Start your journey at the Vieux-Port (Old Port) metro station. Take Line 1 (the blue line) towards La Fourragère. Get off at the Joliette station. From Joliette station, exit and follow the signs to the Docks Village shopping area.

  • Walking

    Once you exit the Joliette station, walk towards the Docks Village. Upon reaching the Docks, turn left and follow the waterfront promenade. Continue walking along the Promenade Robert Laffont, which will lead you directly to Fort Saint-Jean. The fort will be visible from the promenade, and it is just a short 10-15 minute walk.

  • Bus

    From the Vieux-Port, you can also take Bus 35. Board the bus at the Vieux-Port stop and ride until you reach the 'Mucem' stop. From there, it is a short walk to Fort Saint-Jean. Just follow the signs towards the fort, which is located adjacent to the Mucem (Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations).

  • Tram

    Alternatively, you can take the Tram Line T2 from the Vieux-Port station towards Arenc Le Silo. Get off at the 'Joliette' stop. From there, follow the previous instructions to walk along the waterfront promenade to Fort Saint-Jean.
