Driving
If driving from Espalion, take the D921 towards Laguiole. After approximately 4 km, turn right onto the D661, following signs for the Abbaye de Bonneval. Continue for about 3.5 km to reach the abbey. Parking is available near the entrance. Be aware that the roads leading to the abbey are narrow in places.
Public Transport
From Rodez, take the bus operated by liO Occitanie - Aveyron to Le Cayrol. Buses depart from the RODEZ - Gare SNCF/Routière and arrive at LE CAYROL - Bourg. The journey takes approximately 48 minutes. From Le Cayrol, the abbey is approximately 9km away. You can take a taxi from Le Cayrol to the Abbaye de Bonneval. It is advisable to book a taxi in advance as availability may be limited. The bus fare from Rodez to Le Cayrol is between €3-€5. The taxi fare from Le Cayrol to the abbey will be approximately €20-€30.
Walking
For those arriving on the Chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, follow the marked trails towards Bonneval. Numerous paths also exist from Espalion, Le Cayrol and Bastide-d'Aubrac. Consult IGN maps 1/25000e on Geoportail for detailed routes. Be prepared for a moderately challenging hike through varied terrain.
