Car
If you are driving from Toulouse, take the A61 autoroute towards Carcassonne. Take exit 10 toward Albi/Grisolles and merge onto the D999. Continue on D999 for about 45 km. When you reach Albi, follow signs for the D600 toward Gaillac. After approximately 15 km, turn left onto the D33 toward Penne. Follow this road until you reach Rue du Château in Penne. The Forteresse de Penne will be on your right.
Public Transportation (Train/Bus)
From Toulouse, take a train to Albi's train station. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Albi, you can take a local bus (Ligne 2) towards Gaillac. Get off at the stop 'Penne – Mairie'. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Rue du Château where the Forteresse de Penne is located. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as it may vary.
Walking
If you arrive by public transport and get off at the 'Penne – Mairie' bus stop, walk towards the center of the village. Continue straight on Rue de la Mairie, which will lead you into Rue du Château. Follow this street until you see the Forteresse de Penne on your left. It is about a 10-minute walk.
Bicycle
For more adventurous travelers, renting a bicycle in Albi is a great way to reach Forteresse de Penne. The cycling route is approximately 25 km and will take you through scenic countryside. Follow the D600 from Albi towards Gaillac, then take the D33 towards Penne. Be sure to wear a helmet and have a map or GPS for navigation.
