Walking
If you are in the center of Nîmes, start at the iconic Nîmes Roman Arena (Arènes de Nîmes). From the arena, head southeast along Rue de la République. After about 500 meters, you will reach Place du Marché. The Fontaine du Crocodile is located in the square. You will see the fountain as you approach the square, making it a very easy landmark to spot.
Public Transportation
If you are near the Nîmes train station (Gare de Nîmes), take tram line T1 towards 'Perrier' and get off at the 'Jean Jaurès' stop. From there, walk along Avenue Jean Jaurès for about 300 meters until you reach Rue de la République. Turn left and continue walking until you arrive at Place du Marché, where you will find the Fontaine du Crocodile.
Walking from Les Halles
If you find yourself at Les Halles, a popular market area, exit the market and head towards Rue de la République. Walk straight for about 400 meters until you reach Place du Marché. The Fontaine du Crocodile will be in the square, easily identifiable by its distinctive design.
