Walking
If you are starting from the Nîmes train station (Gare de Nîmes), exit the station and head northeast on Rue de la République. Continue straight until you reach the Place de la Maison Carrée. From there, turn left onto Rue de la Madeleine and walk until you reach the Maison Carrée, a stunning Roman temple. After visiting, continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Trinité. Turn right onto Rue de la Trinité, and continue until you reach the Place d'Assas. From the Place d'Assas, follow the signs for the Bus station (Gare Routière) and take Bus Line 1 towards Avignon. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Avignon stop. Walk towards the Palais des Papes, and you will find the Hôtel des Monnaies at 5 Pl. du Palais, which is just a short walk away.
Bus
From Nîmes city center, locate the nearest bus stop for Line 1, which can be found at the Gare Routière (Bus Station). Purchase a ticket from the machine or the ticket office. Board the bus towards Avignon. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Avignon, disembark at the Palais des Papes stop. From there, walk towards the Palais des Papes, and after a few minutes, you will find the Hôtel des Monnaies at 5 Pl. du Palais, just a short distance away.
Bicycle
For a more adventurous route, consider renting a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Nîmes. Start your ride from the city center and head towards the D981 road, following the signs for Avignon. The ride is approximately 40 minutes, depending on your speed. Upon reaching Avignon, follow the directional signs to the Palais des Papes. Once you arrive at the Palais, park your bicycle and walk to 5 Pl. du Palais, where you will find the Hôtel des Monnaies.
