    Getting There

    Walking

    From the center of Nîmes, start at the Maison Carrée, a famous ancient Roman temple. Head northwest on Rue de la République until you reach the intersection with Rue de l'Horloge. Turn left onto Rue de l'Horloge. Continue straight until you get to the Place de la Résistance. Here, you will find bus stops where you can catch the bus to Avignon. Take bus number 61 towards Avignon. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Avignon, get off at the stop 'Palais des Papes'. From there, walk a short distance to the Palais des Papes, which is located at Place du Palais.

    Public Transportation

    Start at the Nîmes train station (Gare de Nîmes). Buy a ticket to Avignon at the ticket counter or machine. Board a train heading to Avignon Centre. The train ride takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Avignon Centre, exit the station and walk straight towards Rue de la République. Continue along Rue de la République until you reach the Place du Palais. The Palais des Papes will be directly ahead of you.
