Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from any location in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, head towards Calais. Use the A16 motorway, which connects various cities in the region. Follow signs for Calais and take the exit for the city center (Centre Ville). Once in Calais, follow the signs for the beach (Plage). You will reach Allée de la Plage, where you can find parking options nearby. Be aware that parking may incur a fee, particularly during peak tourist seasons.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, you can take a train to Calais from major cities like Lille or Arras. The journey from Lille to Calais takes approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival at Calais Ville train station, exit the station and walk towards the bus station located just next door. From there, take Bus Line 3 (Direction: Plage) that will take you directly to Calais Beach. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes, and tickets can be purchased at the bus station or from the driver (approximately €1.50).

  If you're already in Calais, local buses also connect various parts of the city to the beach. You can take Bus Line 3 from the city center, which operates frequently. Check the local bus timetable for exact times. The fare is approximately €1.50 and can be paid directly to the driver or at bus stops. Once you reach the stop for Plage, it is just a short walk to the beach area.

  If you're staying in a nearby hotel or accommodation in Calais, walking to the beach is a pleasant option. From the city center, it's about a 20-30 minute walk to Calais Beach. Head towards the coast, following Boulevard de la République, then turn onto Boulevard du Général de Gaulle which leads directly to Allée de la Plage. This route offers scenic views along the way and is a great way to experience the local area.
