Could not have had a better tour!

Being a retired military member and a (very) amateur historian, I wanted to spend a day touring the Somme battlefields and walk the ground. Olivier did not disappoint! His knowledge of the multiple units, battles, and supporting history of the area was Ph.D level…punctuated with human interest stories of the most personal kind. His use of an iPad loaded with actual trench maps added an extraordinary level of greater understanding as we rode between front lines and from village to village. We had a long day from our start at St Quentin until the end to catch our train back to Paris and he never flagged. The next time we return to France, I will book Olivier to tour American battlefields that are nearby. His expertise extends to all the WWI battles in the Picardy area. Bottom Line: this is an outstanding experience and I highly recommend Olivier and Chemins d’Historie.

Very informative.

Very informative. We knew a bit about the Australian contribution to the war but this trip fleshed out a bit more detail. Amazing and sad to see so many cemeteries and memorials in such a small area.

Absolutely amazing day....

Absolutely amazing day. Brigitte was an incredible tour guide with such useful local knowledge. Also very delightful to spend a day with her. We saw all of the important sights and wouldn’t have been able to do anything close to this by ourselves if we had hired a car. Would one hundred percent recommend.
