Musée de la Corderie Vallois: A Step Back in Time

The Musée de la Corderie Vallois, located in Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville, is a captivating museum set in a former 19th-century rope factory. The building itself dates back to 1821 when Marie-Rose Fouquet-Cuit transformed the property, originally a paper mill from 1759, into a four-story structure. In 1880, Jules Vallois, a rope maker, converted the factory into a mechanical rope-making facility, which operated until 1978.The museum proudly displays its collection of machines, many of which are still powered by the original water wheel.
