Train
To reach Porte Saint-Antoine in Versailles, start at any central Paris train station (like Gare Saint-Lazare or Gare Montparnasse). Purchase a ticket for the RER C line heading towards Versailles Rive Gauche. Once you board the train, enjoy the scenic ride which typically takes around 30-40 minutes. Upon arrival at Versailles Rive Gauche station, exit the station and head straight. You'll see a large avenue called Avenue de Paris. Walk along this avenue for about 15-20 minutes, and you will reach the entrance of the Palace of Versailles, located at Porte Saint-Antoine.
Bus
If you prefer taking a bus, go to the nearest bus stop for lines 171 or 19, which connect central Paris to Versailles. If you are starting from the Eiffel Tower, for instance, catch bus 82 to the Pont de l'Alma stop and transfer to bus 171. The bus ride will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Disembark at the stop called 'Château de Versailles' and follow the signs to Porte Saint-Antoine, which is just a short walk away.
Metro + Train
Begin your journey by taking the Paris Metro Line 1 from any central station (like Châtelet or Palais Royal). Travel to La Défense and transfer to RER A line towards Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Get off at the station called 'Versailles Château Rive Gauche.' From there, walk straight down Rue de la Paroisse, which will lead you to the main entrance of the Palace of Versailles at Porte Saint-Antoine. This route usually takes around 1 hour.
