Somme Battlefield Tours Expert Led Historical Experiences

Excellent battlefield tour

Bart led an excellent day tour focused on the offensive on the southern part of the British sector of the Somme front from July to September 1916. The tour was well planned so that each stage of the battle was explained in sequence. Bart was able to take us to key locations and show the sites of important battlefield features including trenches and machine gun posts and strongpoints. This allowed us to understand at a high level of granularity how and why the battle developed as it did. Bart displayed great knowledge of the units involved and key individuals and how they fitted in to the overall story of the battle. Bart was friendly and approachable and focused on providing us with the best possible tour. We had an excellent packed lunch prepared by Bart’s wife Karen. Highly recommended.

WW1 Somme Battlefield Places Full Day Trip from Paris

An awesome experience

From the moment the boys (guide and driver) introduced themselves we knew we would have a great day. Both the guide and driver conversed freely with us and were both extremely knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend this trip to other Aussies. Having just the 4 of us in the tour meant we got to see what we wanted and ask questions without waiting for an opportunity. The comfortable air conditioning in the car was also a huge benefit. A great day of knowledge building was had by all. It made us proud to say we are Aussie. Thanks

Adrian was an excellent...

Adrian was an excellent guide. Whole experience was very smooth. He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out many interesting places that were on the route. His passion and knowledge was apparent. He gave options once in the area to cater the tour more to our interests. I highly recommend him as a guide!
