Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the A1 motorway. From Paris, take the A1 heading north towards Lille. After approximately 150 kilometers, take the exit towards D929 in the direction of Amiens/Abbeville. Continue on D929 for about 35 kilometers until you reach the town of Villers-Bretonneux. Once in Villers-Bretonneux, follow signs directing you to the Australian National Memorial located at Route de Villers Bretonneux, 80800 Fouilloy. The memorial is approximately 5 kilometers from the town center. Parking is available on-site for visitors. Note that there may be tolls on the A1, so be prepared to pay cash or use a toll pass.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start your journey by taking a train from Paris Gare du Nord to Amiens. The train journey takes about 1 hour and trains run frequently throughout the day. Upon arrival in Amiens, you will need to take a regional bus or a taxi to reach Fouilloy. The bus service can be less frequent, so check the local schedules in advance. If you opt for a taxi, it is about a 30-minute drive from Amiens to the Australian National Memorial, which is located at Route de Villers Bretonneux, 80800 Fouilloy. Expect to pay approximately €60-€80 for a taxi fare. Make sure to check the bus and taxi availability as well as the timetables to plan your return trip.
