The Corniche Sublime, aptly named, is a breathtaking stretch of road that clings to the edge of the Verdon Gorge, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Europe. This panoramic route (D71), primarily located on the left bank of the Verdon, offers a sensory feast of dramatic cliffs, verdant landscapes, and the mesmerizing turquoise waters of the Verdon River snaking far below.The road itself is a testament to engineering ingenuity, having been built between 1938 and 1946 to open up the remote area around the Gorges du Verdon for tourism.
