Discover more about Pont Des Tuves

Nestled in the Alpes-Maritimes, the Pont des Tuves is more than just a bridge; it's a journey through time and nature. Constructed in 1802 on the vestiges of an ancient Roman site, this Genoese-style stone bridge was once the primary link between Montauroux and Saint-Cézaire. For years, it served as the only passage for exchanges between these communities. On the Montauroux side, it's known as Pont des Tuves, while on the Saint-Cézaire side, it answers to Pont des Gabres. The bridge itself is a magnificent structure crafted from tuff rocks. The turquoise waters of the Siagne River flow beneath it, creating a stunning visual contrast. The area is popular in the summer, with adventurers jumping from the bridge into the refreshing waters below. The hike to Pont des Tuves is an easy to moderate trek suitable for families. The trail meanders through lush landscapes, offering glimpses into the region's rich biodiversity. Along the way, hikers can discover the remains of old mills, shepherd's houses, and residential buildings, remnants of a once-thriving agricultural community. The bridge and its surroundings form a protected Natura 2000 site, ensuring the preservation of its natural beauty.
