    Château de Gudanes, a neoclassical masterpiece, graces the commune of Château-Verdun in the Ariège department of southern France. The château, built between 1741 and 1750, stands on the grounds of a former medieval fort. Designed by Parisian architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, who also worked on Versailles, the château earned the nickname "King of the Pyrenees". Over the centuries, the château fell into disrepair but was purchased in 2013 by an Australian family who began an extensive restoration. Today, visitors can witness the ongoing transformation, exploring the grand salon, opulent bedrooms, and expansive gardens. The location offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Château de Gudanes is more than just a historical site; it's an immersive experience.
