Car
If you're driving, head towards the village of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac. From Sarlat-la-Canéda, take the D47 road towards Les Eyzies-de-Tayac. Continue on D47, then take the D706 towards Rouffignac. Follow the signs for Grotte de Rouffignac. There is a dedicated parking area available near the cave entrance. Parking is generally free.
Public Transportation
If you're taking public transport, you can take a bus from Sarlat-la-Canéda to Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac. Check the local bus schedules for the route (Line 4 often services this area). Once you arrive in Rouffignac, it's about a 30-minute walk to the cave, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Follow the signs to Grotte de Rouffignac.
Walking from Rouffignac village
If you arrive in Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac by car or bus, you can walk to the cave. From the village center, head southwest on Rue de la République, then turn left onto Chemin de la Grotte. The cave entrance will be well-marked and is approximately a 30-minute walk from the village center.
