Step into automotive history at the Musée Automobile Reims Champagne, located at 84 Av. Georges Clemenceau, Reims. Founded by Philippe Charbonneaux in the early 1970s, the museum began as the Centre Historique de l'Automobile Française to display his personal collection. Today, under the stewardship of a collector's association, it boasts an impressive collection of around 230 vehicles, with the oldest dating back to 1908. The museum's collection includes 160 cars and 70 motorcycles, featuring iconic models such as the Ford T, Citroën DS, Fiat 500, and Porsche 356 and 928. A highlight is the rare SCAR, of which only a handful remain worldwide. Beyond cars and motorcycles, discover commercial vehicles, a vast array of pedal cars, and over 7,000 miniatures. Philippe Charbonneaux, a renowned industrial designer, left his mark on iconic cars like the Chevrolet Corvette, Delahaye 235, and Renault R8 and R16. The museum is housed in the former workshops of MMM (Menuiserie Métallique Moderne) in Reims. Following Charbonneaux's death, the SCAR association (Salon des Collections Automobiles Rémois) was formed to preserve and expand the museum. Open daily except Tuesdays, January 1st, and December 25th, the museum welcomes visitors to explore its diverse collection. The museum shop offers postcards, posters, books, and miniature models. With its rich collection and engaging exhibits, the Musée Automobile Reims Champagne offers an exciting journey through automotive history.
