Car
The Grotte de Choranche is located off the D531 road. From Grenoble or Valence, allow approximately one hour of driving time. From A49, take exit 9 (Saint-Marcellin) if coming from Grenoble, or exit 8 (Baume d'Hostun) if coming from Valence, then follow signs to Pont-en-Royans, Villard-de-Lans, and finally Gorges de la Bourne. Follow the road to the cave. There is a free parking area at the entrance of the site. Be aware that during peak tourist season, the access road can experience heavy traffic between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM.
Public Transport
The nearest train station to Grotte de Choranche is Saint-Marcellin, approximately 25 km away. From there, you can take a bus (route 5000) or a taxi to reach the caves. Check local bus schedules for accurate timings and connections. Taxi fares from Saint-Marcellin to Choranche will vary, expect to pay approximately €50-€70.
