Plage du Minihic, a charming beach in Saint-Malo, is situated between the areas of Paramé and Rothéneuf. This location gives it a unique character, distinguishing it from the more urban beaches closer to the city center. The beach is set below small cliffs, providing a more secluded and natural ambiance with plenty of greenery.
The beach itself is a mix of sand and pebbles, with rocks at either end. At low tide, it connects with neighboring beaches to form a large sandy expanse stretching towards the old city of Saint-Malo and Fort National. This makes it ideal for long walks along the coast. During high tide, the beach is patrolled by lifeguards, making it a safe spot for swimming.
Plage du Minihic is easily accessible by car, located just a few minutes from the city center. Take the D201 towards Rothéneuf, and you'll find several small streets on the left that lead directly to the beach. While parking can be challenging, the beach is also served by local bus routes.
Note that animals are not allowed on the beach from April 1st to September 30th.

Getting There
Walking
From the Rochebonne bus stop on Avenue John Kennedy, walk west along the avenue for approximately 200 meters. Look for a small road leading to the left, downhill towards the beach. The walk is short but can be steep in places.
Public Transport
Several bus lines serve the area around Plage du Minihic. Take bus lines 3, 4, or 9 to the Rochebonne stop on Avenue John Kennedy. From there, walk west for a few minutes until you see a road leading to the beach. Bus tickets cost around €1.50 - €2.00.
Driving
From Saint-Malo, follow the D201 (Avenue John Kennedy) towards Rothéneuf. After passing Rochebonne, look for small streets on the left leading to the beach. Parking near the beach can be difficult, especially during peak season. Paid parking is available, but spaces are limited. Street parking may also be found nearby. Parking fees range from €1.50 to €2.50 per hour.
