Château de Chausse, a Provençal wine estate, is located in La Croix-Valmer, near Saint-Tropez. The winery is known for producing a variety of wines, including red, white, and rosé AOC Côtes de Provence wines. The estate extends over 15 hectares of vineyards on the hills of La Croix-Valmer and Gassin, in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The Château de Chausse has a long history of Provençal winemaking. In 2016, Charles S. Cohen, an American film producer and distributor, acquired the property and began improvements. Since 2015, the vineyard has been practicing organic agriculture. The estate's terroir is characterized by clay, phyllades, and shale leaves. The traditional grape varieties of the Côtes de Provence, such as Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle, and Cabernet Sauvignon, are cultivated here. Visitors can explore the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process, and taste the estate's wines. Wine tourism has been developed with renovations to improve production facilities. The estate is open year-round, offering tastings, wine-tourism tours, and evening events during the summer.
