Les Arcs, located in the Savoie region of France, is a premier ski resort known for its diverse terrain and interconnected villages. The resort is made up of four main villages: Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, and Arc 2000, each offering a unique atmosphere and direct access to the slopes. Les Arcs was born in 1968, the vision of Robert Blanc and Roger Godino who sought to create a resort that provided direct access to the ski area. Architect Charlotte Perriand contributed to the design, creating innovative living spaces that maximized sunlight and views. The resort is part of the Paradiski area, one of the largest ski areas in the world, with 425 kilometers of slopes. Each village has its own distinct character. Arc 1600 is the original village, known for its family-friendly atmosphere. Arc 1800 is the largest and most vibrant, offering a lively après-ski scene. Arc 1950 is known for its charming pedestrian streets and luxury accommodations. Arc 2000, the highest village, guarantees excellent snow conditions and challenging runs for advanced skiers. Les Arcs offers a wide range of activities beyond skiing and snowboarding. Visitors can enjoy snowshoeing, ice skating, husky dog sledding, and exploring ice caves.
