Discover more about Port du Poussai

Port du Poussai, also known as Port Abri du Poussai, is a small, picturesque harbor located in the Dramont area of Saint-Raphaël. Situated at the base of the Sémaphore du Dramont, this hidden gem provides a safe haven for small boats and a delightful destination for those seeking coastal beauty. History & Significance: The port's origins trace back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Coastal alterations from porphyry quarrying led to conflicts with local fishermen. In 1907, maritime authorities mandated the creation of a quay in the Poussai cove to compensate fishermen and boaters. A breakwater was added around 1930. The port was rebuilt in 1947 after being destroyed during World War II. The jetty was extended in 1954, and a counter-jetty was constructed on the east side in 1976. Today, Port du Poussai offers 90 berths for small boats (5.20m to 6m) and is equipped with fresh water, electricity, and a boat launch. The harbor is well-protected from the elements, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the nearby red-pebble beach, explore coastal trails, and admire the Île d'Or with its distinctive medieval-style tower.
