Le Moulin de Cénaret: A Gorges du Tarn Gem

Le Moulin de Cénaret, an 'unexpected shop', is an atypical place which is both a store and a site open for visit. The mill's story began in 1979 when the current owner's parents acquired the ruined building. They restored it, transforming it into a home and a space to showcase local crafts. In 2011, after renovations, the Moulin de Cénaret re-opened to the public, highlighting the talents of regional artisans. Inside, visitors discover a curated collection of local delicacies, handmade jewelry, pure virgin wool clothing, leather accessories, and other unique creations. The blend of old stones and modern design creates a captivating atmosphere, emphasizing the beauty of the location. The natural spring that flows through the mill is a highlight, a surprising and fascinating feature that once powered the mill. Located in Saint-Chély-du-Tarn, one of the most beautiful villages in the Gorges du Tarn, the Moulin de Cénaret offers a glimpse into the region's rich heritage and artistic spirit. The village itself is nestled at the foot of cliffs on the left bank of the Tarn River, accessed by a single-arched bridge.
