Utopix: Art and Imagination in the Gorges du Tarn

Utopix, a sanctuary of creativity and imagination, is the life's work of artist Jo Pillet and his family. Located on the Causse de Sauveterre, near Sainte-Enimie, this extraordinary place offers panoramic views of the diverse Causse landscape. Built on a promontory, Utopix showcases forests, dry grasslands, and cultivated fields, creating a stunning backdrop for the art within. The adventure began in 1975 when Jo Pillet and his wife purchased the land, with construction starting in 1979. The family built a home and exhibition space with a unique architecture featuring curves and cupolas reminiscent of igloos, blending seamlessly with the natural environment. Over the years, Jo Pillet developed sculpture-games around the house, offering fun for all ages, including a mini-golf course, a giant pinball machine, and a labyrinth. Visitors receive a basket of balls upon arrival to play the various games.
