L'île Penotte: A Seashell Mosaic Wonderland

L'île Penotte, not actually an island, is a captivating district in Les Sables-d'Olonne, a charming seaside town in western France. Once known as "L'île Perdue" (the lost island) during the Revolution, it derives its current name from a street that disappeared in the 19th century. Using a variety of shells—bulots, bigorneaux, oysters, clams, scallops, mussels, and exotic mollusks—she creates detailed scenes and figures that delight visitors of all ages.
