The square is defined by four buildings displaying the ornate architectural details and decorative elements characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement. Architect Jules Lavirotte significantly shaped the square's character with his designs. The building at No. 3 Square Rapp, constructed in 1900, is a highlight, showcasing Lavirotte's distinctive Art Nouveau style. Lavirotte also resided in an apartment on the 5th floor of No. 3. The buildings feature intricate balconies, varied floor designs, and ceramic panels. The entrance at 29 Avenue Rapp includes a portrait of Mrs. Jules Lavirotte, integrated into the building's facade by her husband. Square Rapp is named after Jean Rapp, a French general of the Empire born in the 18th century, and was previously known as Villa de Monttessuy. The square provides a unique vantage point for viewing the Eiffel Tower.
