Walking
From the center of Versailles, head towards the Rive Gauche train station (Gare de Versailles Rive Gauche). This is where you can catch a train to Paris. The station is located about a 15-minute walk from the Palace of Versailles. Once you arrive at the station, purchase a ticket to Gare de l'Est in Paris. The train ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. After arriving at Gare de l'Est, follow the signs to exit the station and you will find yourself on Rue du 8 Mai 1945.
Bus
From the Palace of Versailles, you can also take the bus. Walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located near the Palace. Take bus line 171 towards 'Saint-Cyr - La Ruche'. This bus will take you to the 'Gare de Versailles Chantiers' station. Transfer there to the train service that goes to Gare de l'Est in Paris. After about 30-40 minutes on the train, you will arrive at Gare de l'Est. Exit the station and you will be on Rue du 8 Mai 1945.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the bike rental stations in Versailles. Start from the Palace of Versailles and head towards the Avenue de Paris. Follow the signs for the bike route that leads to the train station Gare de Versailles Rive Gauche. Once at the station, lock your bike and take the train to Gare de l'Est in Paris. The train ride takes about 30-40 minutes. When you arrive, you will be just a short walk from Rue du 8 Mai 1945.
