Walking
If you are starting from the Palace of Versailles, exit the palace grounds and head towards the main gate. Once you are outside, turn left onto Avenue de Paris. Continue walking straight for about 10 minutes. You will see the Grand Commun building on your left at 1 Rue de l'Indépendance Américaine. It's an easy walk and you can enjoy the beautiful gardens along the way.
Public Transport
From the Versailles Rive Gauche train station, exit and walk towards Avenue de Paris. Take Bus 171 towards Montigny-le-Bretonneux. Get off at the 'Château' stop. From there, walk towards the Palace of Versailles, then follow the directions to the Grand Commun as outlined above. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes, and it’s a convenient way to enjoy the surrounding area.
Walking
If you are near the Versailles Market (Marché de Versailles), exit the market and turn left onto Rue de la Paroisse. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de Saint-Cloud. Turn right onto Avenue de Saint-Cloud and continue straight for about 15 minutes. You will find the Grand Commun at 1 Rue de l'Indépendance Américaine on your right.
