Arriving at Maupiti Airport (MPU) on Motu Tuanai, a short boat shuttle is required to reach the main island. This shuttle is typically arranged by your accommodation and is a 15-30 minute ride across the lagoon to Vaiea. The cost is usually included in your accommodation package, but confirm in advance. Some accommodations may charge around 1,000-2,000 XPF per person.

The Maupiti Express ferry connects Maupiti with Bora Bora and Raiatea. Upon arrival at the Maupiti wharf, transportation to your accommodation is typically arranged by your guesthouse. If not, you can find local transportation, such as a ride with a local, to your accommodation. The cost for such a ride is negotiable but expect to pay around 500-1,000 XPF.

From Vaiea, the main village, many accommodations and attractions are within walking or biking distance. Renting a bike is a popular option and costs approximately 1,000 XPF per day.
