If you are traveling by car, start from the main town of Rikitea. Head south on Route de l'Île until you reach the intersection with Route de la Plage. Turn left and continue straight for approximately 5 km. You will see signs for La Plage de Maui along the way. The beach is located in Taiarapu-Ouest, and you should arrive in about 15 minutes.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach La Plage de Maui using public transportation, take a local bus from Rikitea to Taiarapu-Ouest. The bus typically runs every hour, and the fare is around 400 CFP Francs. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will drop you off at the nearest stop to La Plage de Maui. From there, it’s a short walk (approximately 10 minutes) to the beach.
Walking
If you are already in Taiarapu-Ouest, walking to La Plage de Maui is a pleasant option. Navigate to Route de la Plage and follow it straight to the beach. It’s a scenic route that takes about 20-30 minutes. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way.
Bicycle
