Walking
If you are in central Papeete, Fā'ati City can be reached by heading southeast along Boulevard Pomare. Follow the waterfront road; the walk is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Enjoy the views of the ocean along the way.
Public Transport
Papeete is served by an efficient bus service that connects the city to other districts in Tahiti. Bus services operate from 5:00 to 17:00. Check with the driver to ensure the bus is heading in the direction of Fā'ati City. Bus fares vary depending on the distance.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Papeete. A taxi ride from the Papeete Market to Fā'ati City will take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey. Taxi fares in Papeete start at 1,500 XPF, with an additional 130 XPF per kilometer. A 5km ride will cost about 651 XPF.
Driving
If driving, paid parking is available in Papeete. Parking spaces can be scarce in downtown Papeete during the day. Paid on-street parking is available from 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday, costing 100 XPF per hour. Public parking is available at Hotel de Ville, Place Pomare, and Place Tarahoi. Parking costs 100 XPF for the first hour and 100 XPF for each additional half-hour. The daily rate is 1,000 XPF. The parking at the International Cruise Terminal is free from 18:00 to midnight.
