Taxi
From Faa'a International Airport (PPT), a taxi is a convenient way to reach La Plage de Maui. The journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis are readily available at the airport. Expect to pay around 651 XPF for a 5km ride. The base rate is 1500 XPF, with an additional 130 XPF per kilometer. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Public Transport
An affordable way to reach La Plage de Maui is by Le Truck, the local bus service. From Papeete, take the bus towards Taravao. Ask the driver to drop you off near La Plage de Maui. The bus trip will take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. Bus fares are relatively inexpensive, with a single trip costing around 300 XPF. Be aware that bus schedules can be infrequent, especially on weekends, so plan accordingly.
