Keep an eye out for the signs indicating Faaurumai and Hitiaa O Te Ra. As you approach the village of Hitiaa O Te Ra, look for the signs for Arahoho Blowhole. The blowhole is located at the coordinates FJG5+6RR, which is just off the main road. You can park your car along the roadside near the blowhole.
Public Transport
To reach Arahoho Blowhole using public transportation, take a bus from Papeete to Hitiaa O Te Ra. Buses run regularly along Route 1, and you can catch one from the main bus station in Papeete. The bus ride will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for Arahoho Blowhole. After disembarking, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the blowhole itself, as it is a short walk from the main road.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Papeete directly to Arahoho Blowhole. This option is more expensive, with fares typically ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 XPF (about $30 to $50 USD), depending on traffic and time of day. Ensure that you negotiate the fare before starting your journey or ask the driver to use the meter. The ride will take approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
