Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the capital city, Libreville. Head east on the N1 highway toward the town of Ntoum. Continue driving south until you reach the junction that leads to the town of Lambaréné. Instead of turning towards Lambaréné, continue straight toward the coastal area near Pointe Pongara. The road will eventually lead you to a junction where you should follow the signs for Pointe Pongara. Once you arrive in Pointe Pongara, look for signage or local directions to reach Pongara Lodge, which is located at approximately latitude 0.2416 and longitude 9.3134.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, you can take a bus or shared taxi from Libreville to Pointe Pongara. Head to the main bus station in Libreville and look for buses headed to Pointe Pongara or nearby coastal destinations. The fare is usually around 2,500 CFA francs. The journey may take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Pointe Pongara stop, ask locals for directions to Pongara Lodge. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop to the lodge.
Taxi
For a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Libreville to take you directly to Pongara Lodge. This is the most convenient option, especially if you have luggage. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which can range from 15,000 to 25,000 CFA francs depending on your starting point and the distance. The taxi ride will take about 1.5 hours, and upon arrival, you will be dropped off directly at the lodge.
